Robert Swan gives free coal to the parishes of Wistoun and Lamington
Glasgow Herald.
Friday, February 9, 1821
[Page 4]
Mr. Swan, coal-master, Douglas, has generously given 40 loads of coals to the industrious poor of the parish of Wistoun. We understand he has also given the same quantity to the poor of Lamington and some other parishes, the whole of which was carried free of expense by the tenants - a great relief at this season of the year.
