Isaac Emmerson charged with night poaching 20 October 1878

OCTOBER 26, 1878.

Night Poaching. - Henry Allen, Isaac Emerson, George Hewitt, and Henry Haywood, colliers, at Sutton, on the 20th inst., on land of Wm. Thorpe. - They all pleaded guilty to the offence. Hewitt was committed for three months with hard labour, the other two being sent to gaol for two months' hard labour each, and ordered to find sureties not to offend again for twelve months, or in default six months' imprisonment.
